A development blog for my new game 'Chaos Reborn', a sequel to my 1985 ZX Spectrum classic 'Chaos' - plus some musing on games and the games industry in general.
Looks great, can't wait to see it in action.
I noticed some of the creatures now have abilities that they didn't have in previous iterations. This sets them apart which is good and adds to the strategy of playing the game.
Yes, I want some of the creatures to have unique abilities, suggested by the nature of the creature. The giant spider is a great one for a unique attack. The idea is also that if the spider attacks a target that is already webbed it will be a conventional bite, albeit not a particularly powerful attack. Alternatively the spider can go around trapping creatures while other creatures move in to attack the web victims.
Will other creatures have to attack the web first before attacking the trapped creature?
The paralyze attack, nice
I love games where creatures have special abilities (such as heroes of might and magic). I think this will add an awesome new aspect to Chaos.I guess the spider's web attack will be similar to the treant's paralysing attack where the creature gets stuck in the roots. This is sounding more awesome by the day!
I like the idea of unique attacks, and it makes sense for the creature.I also like the art too, especially against black backdrops.
